1. Who We Are

grov ("we," "us," or "our") is a mobile application that provides financial education and simulated (paper) trading experiences. We are operated by Bagley Labs LLC. You can contact us at Scott.Dean@bagleylabs.com.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account information: Email address and password when you create an account.
• Profile data: Username, learning progress, XP, streak count, badges, and virtual portfolio data.
• Usage data: Lessons completed, quiz results, trading activity within the simulator, and feature usage patterns.
• Device information: Device type, operating system, app version, and unique device identifiers.
• Payment information: If you subscribe to grov+, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details — only your subscription status and Stripe customer ID.
• Notification preferences: Your chosen reminder times and notification settings, stored locally on your device.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the grov app and its features
• Track your learning progress and maintain your streak
• Process grov+ subscription payments via Stripe
• Send push notifications for streak reminders, learning goals, and portfolio updates (only if you opt in)
• Show leaderboard rankings and enable social features you choose to use
• Analyze app usage to improve user experience
• Communicate with you about your account or our services

4. Simulated Trading & Financial Data

All trading activity in grov uses virtual money only. No real funds are invested, no real securities are purchased, and no real financial transactions are executed on your behalf.

Stock price data displayed in the app is sourced from third-party providers (Polygon.io) and may be delayed. This data is for educational purposes only and should not be used for real investment decisions.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Supabase: Our database provider, which stores your account and progress data securely.
• Stripe: Our payment processor for grov+ subscriptions. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
• Polygon.io: Stock market data provider. We do not share your personal data with Polygon.
• Analytics providers: Anonymized, aggregated usage data may be shared with analytics tools to improve the app.

We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Export your data in a portable format
• Opt out of certain data processing activities

8. Children's Privacy

grov is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at privacy@getgrov.com.

9. Push Notifications

With your permission, we send push notifications for:

• Daily learning reminders to help you maintain your streak
• Portfolio performance summaries (Monday–Friday only, when you have invested virtual funds)
• Streak alerts to help you reach your learning goals

You can disable notifications at any time in your device's Settings app or within grov's notification preferences.

10. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure database access controls, and hashed password storage. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Third-Party Links

The app may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy in the app or sending you an email. Your continued use of grov after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

13. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information.
